    The Pakistan Davis Cup team has departed for Kazakhstan to participate in the World Group 1 Playoff tie against Kazakhstan. The matches are scheduled to take place in Astana on February 1st and 2nd, 2025.

    The team comprises a blend of experience and young talent, with the following members representing Pakistan:

    Aqeel Khan (Player)

    Muhammad Shoaib (Player)

    Muzammil Murtaza (Player)

    Huzaifa Abdul Rahman (Player)

    Pakistan’s Shayan Afridi Wins ITF Asia 14 & Under Development Championship 2025
    Pakistan’s Shayan Afridi has emerged victorious at the ITF Asia 14 & Under Development Championship 2025 Week-1 Regional Qualifying Event for South East & East Asia, held in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
    In the final, Shayan defeated the tournament’s second seed, Pak Nicholas Ming En of Singapore, with a a score of 6-3, 6-7(3) 6-4, clinching the championship title for Week-1.
    Mr. Muhammad Yasir Pirzada, Director General of the Pakistan Sports Board, congratulated Shayan on his extraordinary performance, stating, “Shayan’s victory is a testament to the bright future of sports in Pakistan.” He reaffirmed the Sports Board’s commitment to supporting the country’s athletes and facilitating their growth on international platforms.
    Mr. Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi, President of the Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF), expressed his sincere gratitude to Mr. Yasir Pirzada for facilitating the Pakistan 14 & under team’s tour to Sri Lanka. He also extended heartfelt congratulations to Shayan Afridi on this incredible achievement, describing it as a significant milestone for tennis in Pakistan. Mr. Aisam praised Shayan’s determination and talent, recognizing this victory as an inspiration for young players across the country. He also commended Mr. M. Abid, captain of the Pakistan team, for his exceptional leadership and contribution to the team’s success.

    Col. Zia-ud-din Tufail, Secretary General of the PTF, also celebrated Shayan’s victory. He congratulated Shayan and his family for their dedication and resilience, which has brought pride to the nation.Additional results from the tournament include Rashid Ali securing 12th position out of 32 participants in the boys’ category. In the girls’ category, Bismal Zia and Hajra Sohail delivered commendable performances, finishing in 6th and 7th positions, respectively, out of 16 players.

    The Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) is pleased to inform you that the 10th Begum Kulsum Saifullah Khan National Ranking Tennis Championships 2024 concluded at the PTF-SDA Tennis Complex, Islamabad.

    The closing ceremony was graced by HE Ladislav Steinhubel, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Pakistan, as the Chief Guest, and Senator Salim Saifullah Khan, Patron PTF, as the Guest of Honour. The ceremony was also attended by prominent figures including Mr Anwar Saifullah Khan, Mr Javed Saifullah Khan, Usman Saifullah Khan, Asad Saifullah Khan (members of the Saifullah Family) and Mr Qamar Zaman ex-Chairman NAB, Mr Hassan Baig, Mr. Tufail Cheema -Secretary-ITA, Col. Zia-ud-din Tufail (Secretary General, PTF), Col. Gul Rehman (Director, PTF Complex), as well as a large gathering of tennis players, coaches, parents, media representatives, and tennis lovers.

    During the ceremony, one minute of silence was observed to pay respects to the passing away of the father-in-law of Mr. Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi-President-PTF.

    In the closing Ceremony, A cash award of Rs. 25,000/- was presented to young tennis prodigy Hassan Usmani for his remarkable achievements in U-14 tournaments held in Saudi Arabia and Aaghabat, showcasing his promising talent on international platforms.

    Additionally, a shield was awarded to Mr Mahboob Khan, the longest-serving coach of Pakistan and a USPTR-certified coach, for his invaluable contributions to the development of tennis in the country.

    The Final Results are as follows.

    Men’s Singles Final:
    Muzammil Murtaza defeated Muhammad Shoaib 6-3, 6-2 to claim the title.
    Ladies Singles Final:
    Amna Ali Qayum overcame Soha Ali 6-3, 6-4 to secure the championship.
    Boys’ 14 & Under Final:
    Hassan Usmani triumphed over Ruhab Faisal 6-2, 6-0 to win the title.
    Boys’ 12 & Under Final:
    Shayan Afridi defeated Rashid Ali 6-1, 6-0 to emerge victorious.

    The Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) is delighted to announce the commencement of the 10th Begum Kulsum Saifullah Khan National Ranking Tennis Championships 2024, held at the PTF-SDA Tennis Complex, Islamabad from 29th Dec-2024 to 5th January, 2025.
    This prestigious tournament is organized annually to honour the memory of the late Begum Kulsum Saifullah Khan, mother of PTF Patron Senator Salim Saifullah Khan.

    Speaking about the event, Senator Salim Saifullah Khan expressed his deep emotional connection to the tournament, stating that it refreshes cherished memories of his late mother. He also extended his best wishes to all participants. The Saif Group of Companies sponsors the event.

    Mr. Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi, President-PTF, and Col. Zia-ud-din Tufail, Secretary-General-PTF, conveyed their best wishes to all players participating in this event.

    A large number of players, including Pakistan’s top-ranked athletes such as Aqeel Khan, Muhammad Shoaib, Muzammil Murtaza, Muhammad Abid, Barkatullah, Shahzad Khan, Yousaf Khalil, Heera Ashiq, Meheq Khokhar, Amna Ali Qayum, Sheeza Sajid, and Soha Ali, are competing in this mega event.

    The ITF Pakistan PPL-Syed Dilawar Abbas World Junior Tennis Championship Leg-2 sponsored by Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) is concluded at the Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) Tennis Complex in Islamabad. This prestigious event has brought together 80 junior players from around the globe, including 50 boys and  30 girls representing countries such as Pakistan, Japan, China, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Canada, Korea, Germany, Kazakhstan, Maldives, Singapore, USA, Belarus, and Russia.

    • In the Boy’s Singles Xiuyuan Guo of China beat Sion Ji of Korea 7-6(3),6-2 and won the boy’s title.
    • In the Girl’s Singles Final Dinara De Silva of Sri Lanka beat Karolina Ligai of Kazakhstan 6-3,6-4 and won the girl’s title.

    Mr. Tariq Mehmood Murtaza Chairman Islamabad Tennis Association (ITA) was the Chief Guest at the Closing Ceremony. Mr. G-Ali Noon -PPL was the Guest of Honour. For the encouragement of players, Mr Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi President-PTF and Col.Zia-ud-din Tufail Secretary-General-PTF were also present at the closing Ceremony and distributed the prizes. The closing ceremony was also attended by  Advocate Majid Bashir President-ITA, Mr. Tufail Cheema Secretary-ITA and a large number of players, coaches and parents.

Zia-ud-Din Tufail Secretary, PTF, Mr. Majid Bashir President ITA, Mr. Tufail Cheema Secretary ITA, Mr. G.Ali Noon, Chief Corporate Services PPL (Sponsor), Mr. Muhammad Arif Qureshi Supervisor of International Tennis Federation (ITF) London and other distinguished officials of Islamabad Tennis Association.

    Mr. Tariq Mehmood interacted with the participants, especially the foreign players for a comfortable stay and a good tournament. They also thanked the Islamabad Police for the provision of foolproof security coverage.

    Islamabad Tennis Association under the auspices of the Pakistan Tennis Federation remains steadfast in its commitment to nurturing and supporting athletes in their pursuit of excellence.     Ahmad Nael Qureshi and Bilal Asim have advanced to the doubles final of the ITF J30 tournament in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

    Pakistani pair secured their spot in the final by defeating Mohammed Alghafli (ARU) and Ghannam Alghannam (KSA) with a score of 6-3,7-5. Both players, from Ace Tennis Academy-Pakistan, have demonstrated exceptional talent, showcasing the expertise and dedication of Pakistan’s emerging tennis talent.

    In addition to his doubles success, Bilal Asim delivered an outstanding performance in the singles quarterfinal, defeating Artem Semenov (RUS), the tournament’s top seed, who ranks among the top 300 junior players in the world. Bilal won the match 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 and qualified for the singles Semifinals.

    Mr. Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi, President -PTF, congratulated Ahmad Nael Qureshi and Bilal Asim on their remarkable performances and extended his best wishes for the upcoming matches. He expressed confidence that the Pakistani duo would continue to work hard and secure the championship.

    The Khawar Hyat Khan Memorial National Ranking Tennis Tournament concluded today at the PTF-SDA Tennis Complex in Islamabad, honouring the late Mr Khawar Hyat Khan, who served as the Senior Executive Vice President of the Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) from 2015 until his passing on 26th January 2024, under the leadership of Senator Salim Saifullah Khan.

    • In a thrilling Men’s Singles Final,  Muhammad Shoaib-PAF claimed the title by overcoming Aqeel Khan with a score line of  7-5,6-3 (retired). 
    • In the Ladies’ Singles Final, Ushna Suhail secured victory against Amna Ali Qayum 6-1,6-1 to become the champion.

    The closing ceremony was attended by Senator Salim Saifullah Khan, Patron of the PTF, as the Chief Guest, while Mr Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi, President of PTF, served as the Guest of Honour. Other notable attendees included Col. Zia-ud-din Tufail [R], Secretary-General PTF, Mr Khawaja Suhail, SVP-PTF Col. Gul Rehman [R], Director PTF, Mr. Mansoor Ahmad Khan, Ex-DDG-PSB, and Mr. Azeem Shah, former DG-CDA. The event was also attended by a large number of tennis enthusiasts, players, parents, coaches, and media personnel.

    Mr Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi congratulated all the winners and runners-up, encouraging them to work hard towards future success. He also expressed his gratitude to the media for their excellent coverage of the event.

    Trials for the Selection of the Pakistan Davis Cup Team Finalised

    Islamabad:

    The trials for the selection of two (2) players for the Pakistan Davis Cup team were conducted from 09th to 13th May 2024, at PTF-SDA Tennis Complex Islamabad.

    The top 2 selected players will travel along with Aisam Ul Haq Qureshi and Aqeel Khan for the Davis Cup tie against Barbados in September 2024. Ahmad Nael Qureshi has been selected for the team directly, based on his recent exceptional performances in the national and international junior tournaments.

    10 players (6 men, 2 juniors and 2 wildcards) were invited, based on their performance and current PTF ranking and the following 2 players have been selected after the completion of the trials.

    2. Yousaf Khalil

    Islamabad: The Pakistan Tennis Federation is pleased to inform you that the ITF Pakistan Zainab Ali Naqvi Memorial World Junior Championship Leg-2 continued at PTF -SDA Tennis Complex Islamabad.

    48 players boys & Girls from Kazakhstan, Turkey, USA, Hongkong, China, Russia, Belarus, Uzbekistan, South Korea, Romania, Switzerland, Sri Lanka, Holland and Thailand are participating in the Championships. 30 Pakistani boys & girls are also participating in the Championships.

    Two Pakistani Boys Ahmed Nael Qureshi and Ahtesham Humayun beat their opponents in boys singles and moved into the Quarterfinals.
