    Sportsnaama report: Defending world junior squash champion of Pakistan Hamza Khan lost the quarterfinal of world junior open squash championship to Koreas Joo Young Na by 3-2 on Monday, 15 July, 2024 at Houston( USA).

    Republic of Korea’s Joo Young Na recorded a stunning upset against defending champion and No.2 seed Hamza Khan to become the first ever Korean to reach the semi-finals of the WSF World Junior Squash Championships. after loosin the first two games in a row Khan comes back and won the two games consecutively and level the match with 2-2. In the fifth and final game , Na gathered his compusutre fantastically and won the game by 11-5 and reached in the semifinal. after winnig the thrilling contest Na said

    “It was a very tough game, i am so exhausted, i tried to play with aggrressive approach and happy to go through the semifinal.”

    Islamabad:

    The Championship Finals of Boys & Girls were played today.  Mr Duncan Chiu, Secretary General of Asian Squash Federation graced the ceremony as Chief Guest and awarded trophies and medals to the players.  Air Marshal Kazim Hammad, Senior Vice President PSF along with Squash legend Mr Qamar Zaman, VP PSF Mr Adnan Asad and number of players and officials also attended the ceremony.

    The final results of the event is as under:

    Boys U-13.   Sohail Adnan (Pak) bt Huzaifa Shahid (Pak) 12-10, 12-10, 5-11, 4-11, 11-8. Sohail won Gold Medal and Huzaifa got Silver.

    Boys U-15.   Shiven Agarwal (IND) bt Muhammad Raziq Puttra (MAS) 11-7, 8-11, 11-5, 13-11. Shiven won Gold Medal and Raziq got Silver.

    Boys U-17.   Nikhelswar (MAS) bt Abdullah Nawaz (Pak) 9-11, 9-11, 12-10, 11-8, 11-6.  Nikhelswar won Gold Medal and Abdullah got Silver.  

    Boys U-19.   Muhammad Hamza Khan (Pak) bt Harith Danial (MAS) 11-5, 12-10, 11-9.  Hamza won Gold Medal and Harith got Silver.

    Girls U-13.       Aadya Budhia (IND) bt Goushika (IND) 11-5, 11-5, 11-4. Aadya won Gold Medal and Gouhika got Silver.

    Girls U-15.     Harleein Tan (MAS) bt Lo Pui Yin Chloe (HKG) 11-8, 11-4, 11-6.  Harleen won Gold Medal and Lo Pui got Silver. 

    Girls U-17.     Enna Kwong (HKG) bt Tang Helen (HKG) 6-11, 11-6, 11-9, 11-1.  Enna won Gold Medal and Tang got Silver.

    Girls U-19.     Thanussa Uthrian (MAS) bt Akari Midorikawa (JPN) 11-8, 11-7, 11-2.  Thanussa won Gold Medal and Akari got Silver.

    THREE PAKISTANI PLAYERS REACH IN THE FINAL OF 31ST ASIAN JUNIOR INDIVIDUAL SQUASH CHAMPIONSHIP, 2024

    Islamabad:

    Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) is organizing Asian Junior Individual Squash Championship, 2024 between 25 – 30 June, 24 at Islamabad for Boys & Girls U-13, 15, 17 and U-19 age categories. Squash contingents from Hong Kong-China, India, Iran, Japan, Korea, Macau-China, Malaysia, Pakistan, Philippines, Qatar, Singapore and Sri Lanka have turned up.  

    The Semi Finals of Boys & Girls were played today.  Results of matches are appended below:

    Boys U-13.      In the 1st Semi Final, Sohail Adnan (Pak) bt Mohammad Iffat Zulkifli (MAS)  by 11-8, 11-6,         11-2 whereas in the 2nd Semi Final, Huzaifa Shahid (Pak) bt Julius Tan (MAS) by 11-2, 11-8, 11-5.

    Boys U-15.      In the 1st Semi Final, Muhammad Raziq Puttra (MAS) bt Abdullah Zaman (Pak) by 11-7, 11-8, 11-6 whereas in the 2nd Semi Final, Shiven Agarwal (IND) bt Nouman Khan (Pak) by  5-11, 11-5, 11-9, 11-0.

    Boys U-17.      In the 1st Semi Final Abdullah Nawaz (Pak) bt Altamis Aqhar (MAS) by 11-4, 14-12, 11-6 whereas, in the 2nd Semi Final Nikhelswar (MAS) bt  Azaan Ali (Pak) by 11-6, 11-6, 11-8.

    Boys U-19.      In the 1st Semi Final Hamza Khan (Pak) bt Muhammad Ammad (Pak) by 11-6, 11-5, 11-0 whereas in the 2nd Semi Final Harith Danial (MAS) bt Jooyoung NA (KOR) 11-9, 6-11, 11-6, 12-10.

    Girls U-13.        In the 1st Semi Final Aadya Budhia (IND) bt Chiu Hau (HKG) by 11-4, 11-7, 4-11, 12-10 whereas, in the 2nd Semi Final,  Goushika (IND) bt Maisarah Mohd  (MAS)   by 11-6, 6-11, 5-11, 11-7, 11-6.

    Girls U-15.      In the 1st Semi Final, Harleein Tan (MAS) bt Yek Rui Jean (MAS) by 11-6, 11-5, 11-6, whereas, in the 2nd Semi Final, Lo Pui Yin Chloe (HKG) bt Ooi Wen Min (MAS) by 11-7, 6-11, 11-5, 11-7.   

    Girls U-17.      In the 1st Semi Final Enna Wong (HKG) bt Doyce Lee (MAS) by 11-9, 11-7, 11-5 whereas, in the 2nd Semi Final Tang Helen (HKG) bt Whitney Isabelle (MAS) by 11-6, 8-11, 11-6, 15-13.

    Girls U-19.      In the1st Semi Final Thanussa Uthrian (MAS) bt  Leung Ka (HKG) by 11-6, 11-4, 5-11, 11-6 whereas, in the 2nd Semi Final Akari Midorikawa (JPN) bt Goh Zhe (MAS) by 7-11, 11-7, 11-6, 3-11, 11-8.

    Indian team reach for 31st Asian Junior Squash Championship starts at Islamabad

    Islamabad: The 31st Asian Junior Squash Championship 2024 will start today, June 25, Tuesday, in which 301 male and female players from 12 countries are participating. Last day, Pakistan Squash Federation Vice President Qamar Zaman, Director Academies Irfan Asghar, Addressing the press conference along with Junaid Shafqat, Marketing Director of Sarina Hotel, Air Commodore R. Amir Nawaz, Secretary of Pakistan Squash Federation, said that the Asian Individual Squash Championship will start from today at Mushaf Squash Complex, Islamabad. The final of the championship will be played on June 29. will go A contingent of 301 male and female players and officials from 12 countries are participating in the championship. It includes 107 male players and 84 female players, besides 36 officials and 44 players’ parents.

    Players from India, Japan, Malaysia, Egypt, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, Korea, Qatar, Iran, Singapore, Philippines and Macau will participate in the championship. Pakistani players won gold and silver medals in the 30th championship. 24 boys and 19 girls from Pakistan are participating in the championship.

    WSF world masters squash championship starts from 15 August at Amsterdam

    KHURRAM SHEHZAD: The Netherlands will host the WSF World Masters Squash Championships in 2024. The best male and female players over 35 years of age will compete at the Frans Otten Stadion.

    Championship will start from 15 August 2024 and ends on 22 August at Amsterdam (Netherlands). The World Masters history is not long, but certainly illustrious. It was 1991 when the first global tournament purely for mature age players was held in Auckland, New Zealand. From there on, it came a long way.
    Suffice it to say that in the 2018 edition of the biennial event, in Charlottsville (USA), there were 755 players from 59 nations competing.

    Islamabad: The 22 nd Asian Squash Team Championship is going to be held at Dalian, China from
    12 – 16 June, 2024. A group of 14 teams from all over Asia would participate in Men
    event.

    Following seven member Pakistan squash team comprising four players, one coach and two officials depart from Islamabad to participate in the mega event.


    1. Mr Muhammad Asim Khan – Player
    2. Mr Noor Zaman – Player
    3. Mr Nasir Iqbal – Player
    4. Mr Farhan Mehboob – Player
    5. Mr Fahim Gul – Coach
    6. Mr Waseem Umar – Physical Trainer

    The teams have been divided into 04 Pools. Pakistan team has been placed in Pool-C along with
    Korea, Chinese Taipei and China.
    In their 1 st match, Pakistan team will play against Chinese Taipei on 12 June, 24 whereas,
    in the 2 nd match, they will play against Korea.

    Mohammad Zakariya of Egypt win CNS squash championship 2024

    Karachi:

    Mohamed Zakaria of Egypt won the 16th Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) International Squash Championship. after defeating Nasir Iqbal of Pakistan by 3-1 at the PN Roshan Khan Jahangir Squash Complex in Karachi on Sunday.

    Zakaria won the championship by defeating Nasir Iqbal by 3-1 in the final of the $20,000 prize money championship.

    Nasir started well by winning the first game 13-11. However, Zakaria made a comeback and won three consecutive games to clinch the match.

    The Egyptian player tied the match at 1-1 by winning the second game 11-4. He then took the 2-1 lead by winning the third game 11-5. Zakaria sealed the victory by winning the fourth and final game 11-7.

    Zakaria, the winner, received a trophy and $3,850 in prize money, while the runner-up Nasir Iqbal received $1,938.

    The Chief of the Naval Staff of Pakistan, Admiral Naveed Ashraf, was the guest of honour in the final match and distributed cash prizes to the winner and the runner-up.

    Islamabad: Pakistani squash players won five gold medals in Australian junior open squash championship held at Melbourne Australia.

    In a display of outstanding skills, Pakistani players dominated the opponents throughout the tournament.

    NOOR ZAMAN WINS CAS INTERNATIONAL SQUASH CHAMPIONSHIP 2023

    Islamabad : Noor Zaman, who is the grand son of former world No 1 Squash Champion Qamar Zaman, defeated Mohammad Asim khan in the final of Chief of Air Staff International Squash Championship on Monday at Mushaf Squash Complex Islamabad.

    In the final Noor Zaman defeated Asim Khan by 11-8, 8-2, retired hurt (18 min) and become champion whereas in the Women final two Egyptian players were head to head in the final. Amina el Rihany  defeated Nadien Elhammamy by 13-15, 11-3, 11-7, 11-7 (48 min).

    Pakistan Squash Federation in collaboration with PAF & Serena Hotels organized Chief of the Air Staff-Serena Hotels International Squash Championship for Men & Women at Mushaf Squash Complex, Islamabad. Besides Pakistan, a group of 23 world ranking Men & Women players from Malaysia, Hong Kong, Egypt & Spain participated.   Air Marshal Mr Irfan Ahmed, HI (M) graced the final as chief guest.
