  • PCB should construct roof on stands for spectators at Rawalpindi Cricket stadium

PCB should construct roof on stands for spectators at Rawalpindi Cricket stadium

Khurram Shehzad Awan: The first match of the five T20 cricket series among Pakistan and New Zealand ruined by rain on Thursday at Rawalpindi Cricket stadium.

Rawalpindi cricket stadium is the famous test venue for the last three decades. All the test playing nations have played their series in this stadium but still spectators are still bound to witness the matches under the rain or sun which shows the lack of interest of the Pakistan Cricket board (PCB) to renovate this important venue. New Zealand cricket team arrived Pakistan for five T20 matches series with Pakistan ahead of international Cricket Council (ICC) T20 world cup which is going to start from June 1 at USA and West Indies.

Pakistan will have to play three T20 matches with New Zealand at Rawalpindi cricket stadium but spectators are still witnessing the matches under the open sky which is ridiculous. PCB should construct the roof on the spectators stand as soon as possible because PCB is the golden sparrow having lots of development funds which should be used as per the necessary requirements.

The people of twin cities have witnessed the first match of Pakistan vs New Zealand T20 series under the thunderstorm and heavy rain which is the big question mark on the PCB management. cricket is the most famous game in Pakistan so people takes much interest to witness the match on the ground. The people of Rawalpindi requested the chairman PCB to take notice on immediate effect and release order for the construction of roof on the spectators stand at Pindi cricket stadium.
