PAKISTAN TEAM BAD PERFORMANCE CAUSE LESS SPECTATORS INTEREST

    Khurram Shehzad Awan:

Pakistan is facing Bangladesh in the second Test match at Pindi cricket on Saturday 31 August, 2024 at Rawalpindi.

Bangladesh is leading the series with 1-0, and won the first test match by 10 wickets. Pakistan cricket board (PCB) announced the free entry for the general public to witness the historical contest but stadium is still empty, which is not a good sign for the game of cricket as the spectators attendance plays vital role in the match to make the contest interesting. PCB officials are totally fail to pull the crowd to the ground which is very important.

The main reason for the less attendance in the match is the condition of the stadium, spectators sitting place is not as per the international standards they have sit under the bright sun in the hot conditions which is impossible. The ICC champions trophy is going to held in Pakistan in next year but stadiums are not prepared before the big event will take place. Pindi cricket stadium is the important venue for the ICC champions trophy but renovation of the spectrators stands is not yet started as the time is very short. Can PCB make ready Pindi cricket stadium before the ICC Champions Trophy which is a big question for PCB.

BAD PAKISTAN TEAM PERFORMANCE LACKS SPECTATORS INTEREST:

Despite of the free entry for the spectators accounted by the PCB, why general public is not coming to witness the test match. There are several reasons but the major cause is the pathetic performance of Pakistan cricket team. Pakistan lost first test match by 10 wickets and Bangladesh won maiden test match. People of Pakistan loves the games of cricket so the bad performance of the star cricketers affects the spectator’s attendance. PCB did well to announce the free entry for the public but performance of the player’s matters.

  • Bangladesh made history by burying Pakistan cricket on the Pindi pitch

Bangladesh made history by burying Pakistan cricket on the Pindi pitch

    ASGHAR ALI MUIBARAK :

1stTest; Bangladesh’s victory, Pakistan’s poor captaincy, fitness issues, weak bowling, irresponsible batting, poor fielding, dropped catches, wrong declarations led to the defeat.

In the first Test played in Rawalpindi, Bangladesh created history by defeating the Pakistan cricket team for the first time
The defeat of the Pakistani team against Bangladesh is the continuation of the defeats against America and India in the World Cup. There was no post-mortem of the defeats against America and India was held and no lessons were learned from the defeats.
Home crowd and home ground advantage could not help the Pakistan due to lacking team spirit and teamwork.
The body language of the Pakistani team was not that of a winning team from the beginning.
The Poor captaincy, fitness issues, weak bowling, irresponsible batting, poor fielding, dropped catches, over confidence, wrong declaration of Pakistani innings led to the defeat.
The 40-degree heat in Rawalpindi kept the Pakistani players on the ground slightly agitated, while the Bangladeshi bowlers sensed the weakness and anxiety of the Pakistani players and enjoyed the warm weather.
This is Pakistan’s first defeat against Bangladesh in Test cricket, whereas in the 13 Tests played before, Pakistan won 12 matches while one Test was a draw.
The second Test between the two teams will also be played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium from August 30 to September 3.
In response to Pakistan’s 448 runs, the Bangladesh team was bowled out for 556 runs in the last session on the fourth day and took a lead of 117 runs over Pakistan.

However, the Pakistani team could score only 146 runs in the second innings, Muhammad Rizwan was outstanding by scoring 51 runs, in the first Test against Bangladesh at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, the Pakistan cricket team gave the visiting team a target of only 30 runs to win, which it did without. Got it for no loss and won by 10 wickets.
On the last day of the Test, Pakistan started the innings with 23 runs for the loss of one wicket, then captain Shan Masood got out early, Babar Azam returned to the pavilion after scoring 22 runs, while Saud Shakeel got out for the first time in Test cricket for zero. The ninth player to get out of Pakistan was Mohammad Rizwan who scored the highest 50 runs, he was dismissed by Mehdi Hasan, followed by Muhammad Ali who was dismissed without opening his account, thus Pakistan won against Bangladesh. He gave a target of 30 runs which he achieved without any loss.

Mehdi Hasan Miraz 4, Shakib Al Hasan 3, Sharaful Islam, Hasan Mehmood and Nahid Rana dismissed one player each from Bangladesh.

Mushfiqur Rahim, who played a central role in Bangladesh’s historic victory, was declared the man of the match for his brilliant innings of 191 runs.

While receiving the man of the match award after the match, former captain Mushfiqur Rahim gave the award money to the flood victims of Bangladesh.

He said that he is very happy for the historic achievement, the whole team played a great game and won, he said that he announced to give his prize money to the flood victims of Bangladesh.

It should be noted that Bangladesh is currently facing a flood situation, about 3 lakh people have been shifted to emergency shelters due to floods caused by recent monsoon rains.

The rains have wreaked havoc in Bangladesh, which has struggled to cope with a political crisis over the past few weeks, with at least 15 people killed and thousands displaced by flash floods triggered by heavy rains.
On the other hand, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif wrote a letter to Bangladesh Interim Government Chief Dr Muhammad Younis on the recent flood situation in Bangladesh and offered assistance from Pakistan.

  • Bangladesh ink history: Win Pindi Test by 10 wickets

Bangladesh ink history: Win Pindi Test by 10 wickets

    KHURRAM SHEHZAD AWAN:

Bangladesh crushed hosts Pakistan by 10 wickets and posted maiden Test victory in the first Test match of the ICC Test Championship Series here at Pindi Cricket Stadium on Sunday. The second Test will start on August 30 at the same venue.

Pakistan batting lineup was totally collapsed in second innings against the best spin bowling attack of Bangla Tigers. In second inning Pakistan team made just 146 runs all out only Mohammad Rizwan made half century with 51 runs whereas six batters could not touch double figures. This is the first time in the history of Test cricket. Pakistan and Bangladesh played 13 test matches before this, Pakistan won 12 Tests and one went draw. In the 14th Test match, Bangladesh broken the jinx by claiming 10 wicket victory over hosts Pakistan.

Bangladesh captain Shanto said in his post-match press conference: “It is an historical win against the best pace bowling side with a margin of 10 wickets, this victory will bring back the happiness on the faces of Bangladesh people who are suffering in bad political situation in the country. Bangladesh spin bowlers under the supervision of senior Shakib ul Hassan performed superb and made the Pakistan under pressure. We will try to continue same performance in the next Test match at the same venue starting from December 30.”

Pakistan captain Shan Masood said: “We own this defeat as a sportsman but we were not over confident but did lots of mistakes which cause this historical defeat. We think, we did mistakes while reading the pitch, our strength was fast bowling but I give credit to the Bangladesh team who played very well and they put good score on the board and then with their best spin bowling attack won this match. The pitch behavior was not as per our expectations”

    Critical analysis:

There are several reason behind the historical defeat of Pakistan against Bangladesh. First main important factor is the misreading of the condition of pitch by the Pakistani players but Bangladesh read it well and used the spin bowling accurately which caused their maiden victory. Secondly , the selection of Pakistan team is not as per the condition of the pitch , Pakistan team relied on the pace bowlers but the demand of the wicket was spin bowling that why they didn’t include a special spinner in the playing eleven which was a biggest mistake of host side.

BANGLADESH NEAR TO MAIDEN TEST MATCH WIN AGAINST PAKISTAN AT RAWALPINDI

Rawalpindi (KHURRAM SHEHZAD AWAN): Bangladeshi bowling attack demolished Pakistani batting front line in the first session of the fifth day Rawalpindi Test on Sunday. Today is the less hot conditions at Rawalpindi so the bowlers are feeling less climate affect to bowl and down the SIX wickets of Pakistan just made 108 runs so far on lunch break.

At the end of the fourth day Pakistan made 23/1 in 10 overs as opening batsman Saim Ayb made only single run but Abdullah Shafique did well on the other end. At the start of the fifth day in the first session Bangladeshi bowlers bowled well and attacked on the Pakistani batting lineup which went on back foot and lost 3 more wickets.  Captain Shan Masood once again lost his wicket and made only 14 runs where as the star batsman Babar Azam lost wicket on 22 while Saud Shakeel went back to the pavilion with a big duck. • PCB fails to attract spectators in the stadium

PCB fails to attract spectators in the stadium

khurram Shehzad Awan :Pakistan cricket board (PCB) fails to bring the spectators to witness the Pakistan and Bangladesh first test match at Rawalpindi. In the fourth day of the test match PCB announced free entry for the spectators but people didn’t took this decision seriously because Rawalpindi cricket stadium have no roof on the spectators stand then how it is possible for the people to sit under the heavy sunlight in this hot season.

Rawalpindi cricket stadium is the venue selected for the upcoming ICC Champions trophy so it is the mandatory requirement for the spectators to build a roof on the stands which is the only way to grab the people to the ground.

  • BANGLADESH UNSTABLE POLITICAL CONDITION AFFECTS ICC WOMEN T20 WORLD CUP

BANGLADESH UNSTABLE POLITICAL CONDITION AFFECTS ICC WOMEN T20 WORLD CUP

KHURRAM SHEHZAD AWAN: The current political crisis in Bangladesh can affect the scheduled International Cricket Council (ICC) women T20 world cup scheduled to be held hosted in Bangladesh from 3 October to 20 October this year.

The Political scenario in Bangladesh was totally changed after the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wajid, who fled away to India for exile after the huge protest of the students in the Capital Dhaka. The political condition of Bangladesh is not suitable for the international events so ICC should stare on this important matter and must change the venue of the big event to the other country. All the cricket boards have serious concerns about this situation so the change of venue is the only solution left for the ICC to conduct the mega contest.

The 9th edition of the ICC T20 Women world cup is scheduled to be hosted in Bangladesh , in this event 10 countries are taking part which divided into two groups. Group A comprised Pakistan, India, Australia, Sri Lanka and New Zealand whereas Bangladesh, England, Scotland, South Africa and West Indies are included in Group B.
