Athens (Khurram shehzad):

President of Association of international sports press ( AIPS) Asia Hee Don Jung accompanying Secretary General AIPS Asia Amjad Aziz Malik and Member executive AIPS Europe Ioannis Daras participated in the opening session of the International Olympic committee (IOC) 144th session being held at Costa Navarino Athens, Greece on Tuesday 18 March, 2025.The IOC 144th session is organised for the election of New president of the IOC. There are eight contestants in the election for getting the presidential seat of the IOCThe session was opened by the outgoing president IOC Thomas Bach opens 144th IOC Session at Ancient Olympia paying tribute to Olympic history and expressing confidence for the future. In his speech he said “it is these values that make the Olympic Games unique. As guardians, it is our duty to unite around these values. These values that should always remind us: we are part of something greater than ourselves. This is why we always have to put values first. This is our responsibility: to carry these values with humble dignity and pass them on to the next generations”He added “The ancient Olympic Games came to an end when political and commercial interests took over and pushed the values of sport aside. For centuries, the Olympic Games perished into oblivion. It took almost 2,000 years before the Olympic Games could be revived by Pierre de Coubertin. When he did so 131 years ago, as a young man aged just 29 years, the values of sport were central to his thinking. He wanted to make the world a better place through sport and its values”

president AIPS Asia Hee Don Jung said in a conversation with Sportsnaama

“IOC plays vital role to the promotion of sports in the globe which is a great work which should be appreciated and we hope that the newly elected IOC president will continue this tradition “
