Khurram Shehzad Awan:
Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has extended the deadline for Pakistan to confirm the venue for the FIFA world cup 2026 qualifier match against Jordon up to 2 February.
Pakistan Sports board (PSB) has assured the Pakistan football federation (PFF) that flash lights will be installed in the Jinnah Stadium before the clash but PFF in response said that the Jinnah stadium cannot meet the FIFA standards so the game between Pakistan and Jordon will be played on a neutral venue. PFF has said as the match is scheduled in march so coincidently Ramadan is starting from 12 March so it is bit difficult to arrange the setup as per FIFA standards.
Pakistan football federation officials has said that we are in contact with the Jordon football federation for the finalization of the venue for the home leg. Jinnah Stadium Islamabad previously hosted the FIFA club world cup match between Pakistan and Cambodia and Tajikistan where more than 20 thousands football spectators were present at the venue to witness the match which shows the love of game football in Pakistan.
