KHURRAM SHEHZAD AWAN: Pakistan No 1 shuttler Murad Ali and current women No 1 Olympian Mahoor Shahzad have secure 61th National Badminton championship held at Lahore. In the mens single final Murad Ali of Kpk defeated Anjum Shahzad of Pak Army in a strong competition with 21-19 and 21-18 whereas in the womens single final olympian Mahoor Shahzad of Wapda defeated Ghazala Siddique of Wapda by 21-16 and 22-20 to claim the championship.
Mahoor Shahzad claimed the National ranking badminton championship for the eights consecutive time. The badminton starlet’s achievement is doubly amazing when considering the fact that doctors recommended that she take a break from training for four months to rest, as she recently welcomed the birth of her baby girl. Murad Ali win the title for the 6th time which is also a remarkable achievement.
